So, I thought I'd create a lovely little Putfile account to upload my recordings onto. This was about a year ago, I suppose.. Not relavent to this journal.

Last winter, I did a cover of Leaves' Eyes's "Mourning Tree." It's a lovely little song about a young Norwegian wife, seperated from her husband as he sets off on the Vinland Saga of the 10th century.. Again, irrelavent.

Point being.. Putfile DELETED this file for "copyright infringment." Okay, now that's a little harsh. Yeah, I didn't write the song.. So what? It's a recording of me singing at a recitle!

But wait, there's more...

They deleted a Nightwish cover I did a year or so ago, because it was "copyright infringment." Okay, a cover song.. Yeah, sorry about that guys, I had permission to upload it online by the artist who recorded the instrumentals! I gave credit to Nightwish, hence "N-I-G-H-T-W-I-S-H cover."

Oh, it's not over.

They also deleted a couple live recordings of MY band. Why? "Copyright infringement." Yeah, cause I'm TOTALLY stealing music from Aghast, regardless of it being my band. Yeah, totally. I had no idea it was against copyright laws to upload YOUR OWN music. Seriously.


Boycott Putfile. Their policies are SHIT.

And they definatly don't even listen to the file before deleting it! I am quite obviously not Liv Kristine in the recordings, and I wouldn't be uploading her songs on there. I'm also not Tarja Turunen, Sharon den Adel, or Sarah Brightman on my goddamn recitle recordings. Quite obviously, if they listened and compared, I am not violating copyright laws by uploading someone elses music. ksjdflskdjflsdfj.

Anyway, shopping for a new hosting site as of now...
